4 polling centres set on fire in Netrakona

Four polling centres were torched early Tuesday in Sadar and Purbadhala upazilas of Netrakona district.

According to Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mamun Sarkar, miscreants set fire to three government primary schools in Sadar Upazila around 3:30 AM. The schools affected were Parla Government Primary School, Bamonmoha Government Primary School and Sridharpur Government Primary School.

Police, alerted by locals, rushed to the scenes and brought the fires under control.

In a separate incident, Hironpur Government Primary School in Purbadhala Upazila was also set ablaze during the night, according to , Purbadhala Police Station officer-in-charge Didarul Islam.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incidents.
