Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman are scheduled to cast their votes at Gulshan Model School and College polling centre in Dhaka on Thursday.
According to his press wing, Prof Yunus will vote at 10:00 AM, while Tarique Rahman is expected to cast his ballot between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM, Shamsuddin Didar, a staff member of BNP chairperson’s media wing, confirmed.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed will also cast his vote at the same centre around 12:00 PM, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
A total of 127,298,522 voters across 299 constituencies are eligible to vote in the election, including 64,620,077 male, 62,677,232 female, and 1,213 third-gender voters.
Across all 300 constituencies, the total voter count is 127,711,899; 64,825,154 males, 62,885,525 females, and 1,220 third-gender voters.
Nearly 800,000 officials will be engaged in election duties at more than 42,600 polling stations in the 299 constituencies, while a similar number of security personnel will be deployed to protect the centres.
Meanwhile, some 50,000 observers from 80 registered domestic organisations are set to monitor the polls, along with nearly 500 foreign observers overseeing the election.
