Jamaat’s Rayhan Siraji wins Rangpur-1 seat

Jamaat-e-Islami nominee Md. Rayhan Siraji has been unofficially declared the winner in Rangpur-1 constituency in 13th National Parliamentary Election.

According to the office of the district returning officer, results from all 139 polling centres in the constituency have been counted. 

Rayhan Siraji, contesting with “Daripalla” symbol, secured 145,088 votes.

His nearest rival, Mokarram Hossain Sujan of BNP, who contested with “Sheaf of Paddy” symbol, received 69,407 votes. Meanwhile, ATM Golam Mostafa, contesting with the “Hand Fan” symbol, garnered 2,325 votes.

With a significant margin of victory, Rayhan Siraji was declared the unofficial winner of the seat. 

Election officials said the result will become final following the publication of the official gazette notification.
