BNP wins all 5 seats in Jamalpur

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has secured a clean sweep in Jamalpur district, winning all five parliamentary constituencies, with Jamaat-e-Islami candidates finishing as the nearest rivals in every seat.

Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Yousuf Ali officially announced the results after completion of vote counting, including postal ballots.

In Jamalpur-1 (Dewanganj–Baksiganj), BNP nominee M Rashiduzzaman Millat was elected with 173,656 votes from 128 polling centres. His nearest rival, Nazmul Haque Saeedi of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, secured 97,820 votes.

In Jamalpur-2 (Islampur), BNP candidate Sultan Mahmud Babu won with 95,860 votes from 93 centres, defeating Jamaat nominee Samiul Haque Faruqi, who received 62,434 votes.

In Jamalpur-3 (Melandah–Madarganj), BNP candidate Mostafizur Rahman Babul emerged victorious with 207,412 votes from 155 centres. Jamaat candidate Mujibur Rahman Azadi came second with 81,430 votes. A total of nine candidates contested the seat.

In Jamalpur-4 (Sarishabari), BNP nominee Faridul Kabir Talukdar Shamim was elected with 147,406 votes from 89 centres, while Jamaat candidate Advocate Abdul Awal secured 44,947 votes.

Meanwhile, in Jamalpur-5 (Sadar), BNP candidate Advocate Waresh Ali Mamun won with 199,344 votes from 162 centres. His closest rival, Jamaat nominee Maulana Muhammad Abdus Sattar, obtained 113,201 votes. Ten candidates contested this constituency.

With these results, the party has consolidated its dominance in Jamalpur district by capturing all five parliamentary seats.
