SHIBCHAR, MADARIPUR, Feb 19: Under the agricultural incentive programme, free onion seeds, chemical fertiliser and agricultural inputs have been distributed among marginal farmers in Shibchar, Upazila of Madaripur District.
Under the incentive programme aimed at producing summer onion seed bulbs during the Kharif season under the agriculture rehabilitation assistance sector for the 2025-26 fiscal year, the inauguration of the free distribution of onion seeds, chemical fertiliser and other agricultural inputs among farmers took place on Tuesday afternoon at the premises of the Shibchar Upazila Agriculture Extension Office in the district. The event was organised by the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE).
On the occasion, 25 farmers from the upazila were each given 1 kg of onion seeds, 25 kg of urea fertiliser, 25 kg of DAP fertiliser, 25 kg of MoP fertiliser, 25 kg of gypsum fertiliser, 200 kg of organic fertiliser and 7 kg of pesticide.
Upazila Agriculture Officer and Agriculturist Md. Alimuzzaman Khan, along with other officials of the DAE, were present at the time.
