2 killed as oil tanker ploughs into Noakhali shop

Two individuals were killed and at least three others were injured after an oil tanker rammed into a roadside shop in Noakhali’s Kabirhat upazila on Friday morning.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be known.

According to locals, the incident occurred around 10:30 AM near Transmitter area when an oil-laden truck, from Sonapur was heading towards Kabirhat, went out of control and ploughed into a shop along the roadside.

Two individuals were killed on the spot when the truck crashed into the shop, injuring several others.

Confirming the incident, Kabirhat Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Nizamul Uddin Bhuiyan said that further details will be provided after investigation.

Following the incident, angry locals blocked the road, disrupting traffic in the area for some time. Police later arrived at the scene and worked to bring the situation under control.
