Pakistan high commissioner meets Home Minister, discusses bilateral ties

Imran Haider, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, paid a courtesy call on Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed at his office in the Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday.

According to a press release from Ministry of Home Affairs, the meeting featured cordial and constructive discussions on a wide range of issues of mutual interest between the two countries.

Key topics included cooperation in safe city initiatives and database registration systems, counter-terrorism efforts and enhanced collaboration between the police academies of Bangladesh and Pakistan. 

The discussions also addressed the exchange of criminals or prisoners, potential cooperation in the drone sector, broader regional developments and overall bilateral relations.

At the start of the meeting, the Home Minister welcomed the High Commissioner and expressed optimism about further strengthening the longstanding ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

In response, Haider congratulated the Home Minister on assuming his new responsibilities and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening engagement and cooperation with Bangladesh.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their shared resolve to work closely on areas of common interest and to further advance bilateral relations.
