Advance ticket sales for train and long-distance bus ahead of Eid al-Fitr have begun, marking the start of preparations for the annual homecoming rush. Authorities have introduced measures to ensure smoother travel and reduce congestion during one of the busiest periods of the year.

Bangladesh Railway announced that 100 per cent of train tickets will be sold online this year, continuing the policy aimed at transparency and minimizing ticket scalping. To reduce server load, ticket sales are split into two time slots based on regions. Tickets for all intercity trains in the western region are available from 8:00 am daily, while eastern region tickets can be purchased from 2:00 pm. Passengers can access tickets via the "Rail Sheba" app and the official railway website.

Following the schedule, tickets for March 13 journeys were released on March 3. Tickets for March 14 will be available on March 4, March 15 on March 5, March 16 on March 6, March 17 on March 7, March 18 on March 8, March 19 on March 9, and March 20 on March 10.

To accommodate increased passenger numbers, Bangladesh Railway will operate five pairs of special trains, adding a total of 20 additional services. Furthermore, 47 extra meter-gauge coaches from the Pahartali workshop will be deployed.
