The government has implemented a significant administrative reorganization reassigning responsibilities for two ministerial level advisers and eight state ministers according to official announcements made Tuesday.

The Cabinet Division formalized the changes through two separate gazette notifications detailing the new ministerial assignments that took immediate effect upon publication.

Under the new arrangements Nazrul Islam Khan, currently holding the position of Political Adviser to the Prime Minister, has received additional duties overseeing the Ministry of Agriculture.

Similarly Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, also serving as Political Adviser to the Prime Minister, now assumes supplementary responsibility for the Ministry of Industries.

The reshuffle brought substantial changes to state ministerial portfolios with several officials seeing their responsibilities narrowed or redirected.

Md Shariful Alam previously managing the combined portfolios of Commerce Industries and Textiles and Jute will now concentrate exclusively on the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.

Sultan Salauddin Tuku who formerly supervised Agriculture Fisheries and Livestock plus Food ministries has been reassigned to focus solely on the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock.

Transportation related ministries also underwent reorganization as Habibur Rashid previously overseeing Road Transport and Bridges Railways and Shipping has been redirected to manage the Ministry of Railways alongside the Road Transport and Highways Division.
Meanwhile Md Razib Ahsan received assignment to the Ministry of Shipping and the Bridges Division.

Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki who earlier managed both Finance and Planning ministries will now serve exclusively as State Minister for the Ministry of Planning.
The changes also affected social sector portfolios with Farzana Sharmin formerly responsible for both Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare now concentrating on the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs alone.

Md Nurul Haque who previously held the Social Welfare Ministry portfolio has been transferred to lead the Ministry of Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment.

The education sector saw adjustments as well with Bobby Hajjaj who formerly handled both Education and Primary and Mass Education now serving exclusively as State Minister for the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

The official notifications specified that all other provisions contained in earlier orders issued on February 17 and February 24 2026 remain valid and unchanged except where explicitly modified by the current reshuffle.

The reorganization appears designed to streamline ministerial responsibilities by reducing overlap and allowing officials to concentrate on specific policy areas rather than managing multiple diverse portfolios simultaneously.

The restructuring takes effect immediately without any transition period as stated in the official gazette notifications published by the Cabinet Division.
