Dense fog suspends ferry services on Daulatdia-Paturia route

Ferry services on the Daulatdia-Paturia route have been suspended since 7:30AM on Saturday due to dense fog.
It is reported that due to increasing fog density in the Padma River basin, the beacon lights and marking points of the channel became unclear, leading to a risk of boat accidents.
The authorities decided to suspend ferry services to avert any accident.
Following suspension of the ferry services, various types of vehicles crossing the Daulatdia Ghat got stuck which causing inconvenience to the passengers.
Mohammad Salahuddin, manager of the Daulatdia Ghat branch of BIWTC, said, “Ferry services were disrupted following poor visibility caused by the dense fog in the Daulatdia area from 7:30AM. The services will resume once the fog clears.’’
