Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has introduced strict measures to reduce fuel and electricity consumption in line with government directives aimed at addressing the ongoing global energy crisis.

The directives were issued through an official order on Monday following instructions from DSCC Administrator Md. Abdus Salam. The initiative aims to reduce operational costs and ensure efficient use of energy resources within the city corporation.

According to the office order, fuel allocation for vehicles used by DSCC officials has been reduced by 30 per cent. In addition, fuel usage for vehicles engaged in municipal waste management operations has been cut by 20 per cent. Officials have also been instructed to limit the use of vehicles for both official and personal purposes.

To ensure electricity conservation, several additional measures have been introduced across all DSCC offices. Authorities have directed officials and employees to avoid using electric lights during daytime if sufficient natural light is available. Windows, doors, and blinds should remain open where possible to maximize the use of daylight.
