3 DU students expelled over harassing women

 
Dhaka University (DU) has expelled 3 students for six months following their involvement in harassing two men and two women at the TSC area in the early hours of 24 February.

Proctor Prof Saifuddin Ahmed issued the expulsion order based on recommendations from an investigation committee, exercising powers granted under university regulations.

Expelled students are Shahriar Islam Tushar from the Theatre and Performance Studies department, Rakib Ahmed from the World Religions and Culture department, and Shahriar Tanzil from the Anthropology department.

Incident occurred during the pre-dawn hours of February 24 at the TSC (Teacher-Student Centre) area, a central location on the DU campus. Details of the harassment were investigated by a university-appointed committee, which recommended the six-month expulsion.
