Postal ballots sent to expatriate voters 

The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday began sending postal ballots to expatriate voters who registered to cast their votes in the upcoming elections in Sherpur-3 and the Bogura-6 by-election.

Salim Ahmad Khan, team leader of the 'OCV-SDI' project on overseas voter registration, confirmed the development to BSS on Thursday.

He said postal ballots will be sent to 1,281 registered expatriate voters for the Bogura-6 constituency. In addition, the process has started to send postal ballots to 383 registered expatriate voters for the Sherpur-3 constituency.

According to him, preparations are underway to dispatch postal ballots to all registered expatriate voters of the two constituencies within the day.

Senior Secretary of the EC Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed told journalists that two types of postal ballots will be used-OCV for overseas voters and ICV for voters residing within the country.
