‘Robber’ held in Rajbari police operation

Police arrested an alleged member of an inter-district robbery gang during a drive in Rajbari’s Goalanda upazila on Saturday.

The arrested was identified as Md Nuru Kha, 40, son of late Dulal Kha of Purba Ujan Char Bholai Matbarpara area in the upazila.

According to police, a team of Goalanda Ghat Police Station, led by SI Md Nazim Uddin, along with SI Rabiul Islam, Md Farid Mia and ASI Md Azizul Haque, conducted the operation in the Notun Bridge area based on a tip-off and arrested him.

Police said the accused is an active member of an inter-district robbery gang and has six cases filed against him in different police stations, including Faridpur, Kashimpur, Madaripur and Patuakhali.

Confirming the arrest, Goalanda Ghat Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Muminul Islam said the suspect was apprehended during a special operation.

He added that the accused was sent to the Rajbari court on Saturday following the arrest.
