Motorcyclist killed in N’ganj road crash

A motorcyclist was killed and another injured after a truck ran them over in Narayanganj’s Fatullah upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Jumman Hossain, son of Mobarak Hossain, a resident of Prasannagar cluster village under Baktabali union.

The injured, Arman Hossain, was first taken to a local hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.

According to locals, Jumman and Arman had parked their motorcycle beside a roadside tea stall and were having tea when a speeding truck lost control and hit them from behind.

Later, both were rescued and taken to Khanpur Hospital in the city, where doctors declared Jumman dead. Arman was later transferred to Dhaka for advanced treatment.

Following the incident, the truck driver fled the scene.

Police official Shahidul Islam said the body has been sent to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy and legal action is underway.
