Robber killed by own gunfire during robbery attempt

 
KHULNA, Mar, 27: A robbery attempt in Dighalia upazila of Khulna ended tragically when one of the attackers was killed by a gunshot fired by his own accomplice, police said.

The incident occurred around 2:45am on March 26 near the Steamer Ghat area. The identity of the deceased robber has not yet been confirmed.

According to police and local sources, Tahidul Islam-a flexiload businessman and son of Jabed Ali Sheikh from Devara village-was returning home with the day's earnings when three robbers blocked his path near Popular Jute Company. As they attempted to snatch his cash, a struggle broke out.

During the confrontation, one of the robbers accidentally discharged a firearm, fatally striking a member of their own group at the scene. Tahidul Islam was also injured during the incident.

Local residents quickly rushed the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.
