5 crushed under train in Tangail

At least five members of a family, including a child, were killed after being run over by train at Kalihati upazila in Tangail district on Friday.

The incident occurred around 8:00 PM at Dhalatengor area of the upazila. 

The identity of the victims could not be known immediately, said Tangail Railway Station Police Outpost Sub-Inspector Mizanur Rahman.

A Dhaka-bound passenger bus ran out of fuel near the site, prompting several passengers to disembark. 

The victims reportedly sat on the railway tracks alongside the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge highway, he said.
