Motorcyclist killed in Cumilla road crash

A motorcyclist was killed and two others injured in a collision between two motorcycles in Homna upazila of Cumilla district on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Kawsar Mia, son of late Hashem Mia from Darivashania village under Homna upazila. He worked as an electrician.

According to locals, the incident occurred around midnight on the Homna-Companiganj road in Sripur Krishnapur area when two speeding motorcycles collided, causing the victim to die on the spot.

The injured, Rahmat Ullah and Abdullah from Gharmora union, were initially taken to Homna Upazila Health Complex. As their condition was critical, they were later referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

It is said that four friends were returning home on two motorcycles after having a meal in the Titas area of Muradnagar upazila when the collision occurred between their own bikes at Krishnapur.

Homna Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Morshedul Alam Chowdhury confirmed the incident.
