‘Drug peddler’ held with 4000 Yaba pills in Munshiganj

Detective Branch (DB) of police have arrested an alleged drug peddler along with 4,000 pieces of Yaba pills in Munshiganj on Tuesday afternoon.

The arrested was identified as Md Suman Akon, 46, a resident of Hoglar Math area under Shibchar upazila in Madaripur district.

According to police, a team of DB officials led by sub-inspector (SI) Abul Kalam Azad conducted a drive around 5:30 PM on the Dhaka-Maowa toll plaza-bound road near Khanbari bus stand in Medenimondol area under Padma Bridge North Police Station.

During the drive, DB officials intercepted the suspect and recovered 4000 pieces of Yaba pills from his possession.

Police said preparations are underway to file a case against the arrested under the Narcotics Control Act.
