Rishad nominated for Tasmania Big Bash player of the year

Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has been nominated for Tasmania Big Bash Player of the Year award following an impressive debut season in the tournament.

Rishad claimed 15 wickets, playing a key role in Hobart Hurricanes’ strong campaign. 

He is shortlisted alongside Nikhil Chaudhary, Nathan Ellis and Chris Jordan for the prestigious award.

In a statement, Cricket Tasmania praised Rishad’s breakthrough season, noting that the leg-spinner led all Hurricanes players in wickets and was frequently used early in matches, often right after the powerplay. 

His best performance came against the Adelaide Strikers, where he returned figures of 3 for 26.

The awards will be presented at Cricket Tasmania’s annual ceremony on April 1, celebrating standout performers from the 2025�"26 season across its various programs. 

Winners will be announced during the event on social media and later shared through official channels.
