Housewife killed in Kushtia road crash

A housewife was killed after being hit by a speeding motorcycle in Kushtia’s Daulatpur upazila on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Marzina Khatun, wife of Zillur Rahman, a resident of Hosenabad area under Mathurapur union.

According to locals, the incident occurred around 7:30 AM when Marzina was walking along a road in front of her house. At that time, a overspeeding motorcycle struck her, throwing her onto the road and causing severe head injuries.

Later, she was rescued by locals and taken to Daulatpur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared her dead.

Daulatpur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Arifur Rahman confirmed the incident and said that the body has been sent to Kushtia Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

A case has been filed in connection with the incident and efforts are underway to identify the deceased, added the OC.
