In a rare moment away from official duties, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman enjoyed a cinema outing with his daughter Barrister Zaima Rahman on Friday evening.

The father-daughter duo attended a screening of the American science fiction film "Project Hail Mary" at Star Cineplex's Shimanto Shombhar location in Dhaka's Dhanmondi area, according to Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.

"The Prime Minister came to the cinema hall in the evening to watch the film. His daughter, Barrister Zaima Rahman, accompanied him," Rumon confirmed, emphasizing that the visit was purely for leisure during a holiday.

The screening ran from 7:10pm to approximately 10:10pm, offering the Prime Minister a welcome break from his demanding schedule.

"Project Hail Mary," released in 2026, represents the latest collaboration between directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, known for their work on successful franchises like "The Lego Movie" and "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse." The film stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, an amnesiac astronaut who must solve an interstellar mystery to save humanity.

Based on Andy Weir's 2021 novel, the story explores themes of isolation, scientific problem-solving, and human resilience in the face of cosmic challenges. The cast also includes Sandra Hüller, James Ortiz, and Lionel Boyce.
