3 brick kilns fined Tk 6 lakh in Pirojpur

PIROJPUR, Apr 5: Three brick kiln owners were fined Tk 6 lakh for cutting top soil from government Khas land on Friday afternoon.

A mobile court led by Nesarabad Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Amit Dutta, along with police of Nesarabad Police Station, conducted the court at Sarengkhati Sandha River bank area. The court found four trawlers loading top soil from Khas land and seized the soil trawlers.

The court instantly fined three brick kilns Tk 2 lakh each, with an undertaking from the respective owners of the brick fields. The brick kilns are ASA Bricks, Diamond Bricks and Modern Brick Kilns. Later, the seized soil was donated to Samudaykhati School for filling the school playground.
