A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of income tax records belonging to former cultural affairs minister and actor Asaduzzaman Noor in connection with a corruption case.

The directive was issued on Wednesday by Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md. Sabbir Foyez after a petition was filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to the petition submitted by ACC Assistant Director and investigation officer Md. Ferdous Rahman, Noor is accused of amassing assets worth Tk 53.71 million beyond his known sources of income through alleged abuse of power.

ACC also reported detecting suspicious transactions amounting to Tk 1.58 billion across 19 bank and financial institution accounts linked to Noor.

He is further accused of transferring and converting illicit funds in violation of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act and the Money Laundering Prevention Act.
