Teenager killed, 3 injured in Meherpur motorcycle collision

A teenager was killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles at Baradi union of Meherpur Sadar upazila. 

Three others were seriously injured in the incident that happened around 9 PM on Saturday in front of the Old Darbeshpur Government Primary School.

Deceased Araf, 15, was the son of Touhidul Islam of Singhati village in Baradi union of the upazila.
 
The injured are Hossain, 16, of Singhati village, Indrajit, 26, of Mominpur village and Saju ,40, of Gaharpur village. 

According to local sources, Araf and Hossain were on one motorcycle. Saju and Indrajit were on the another, coming from the opposite side.

Suddenly, the two motorcycles collided head-on, leaving Araf dead on the spot and three others seriously injured. 

Upon receiving the information, Meherpur Fire Service and Civil Defense rescued the injured and took them to the Meherpur General Hospital. 

Later, among the injured, Saju and Indrajit were referred to Dhaka Pangu Hospital in critical condition.

Meherpur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Humayun Kabir said that the police visited the scene after receiving the news of the accident. 

Necessary legal action will be taken after receiving a written complaint from the family in this regard, he added.
