Housewife commits suicide in Natore

A housewife allegedly died after committing suicide following a reported family dispute in Natore’s Singra upazila on Saturday evening.

The deceased was identified as Swadhina Khatun, 19, wife of Yasin Ali, a resident of Nurpur village and daughter of Abdul Wahab of the same area.

According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday evening when Swadhina reportedly hanged herself from a beam inside her bedroom at her husband’s house after a quarrel.

Being informed, police recovered the body on Sunday morning and sent it to Natore General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Singra Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said a case has been filed over alleged abetment to suicide, lodged by the victim’s father.

Legal action will be taken following the autopsy report, added the OC.
