Several political figures and activists, including former Jubo Dal central organising secretary Ishaq Sarker, content creator Nuruzzaman Kafi, social activist Mohiuddin Rony and Fersamin Haque Iqbal, granddaughter of Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq, joined the Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) on Friday.

They formally joined the party at a ceremony held at the Institution of Diploma Engineers in the capital, where NCP Convener Nahid Islam announced their names and welcomed them with flower.

Speaking at the programme, Nahid Islam said Ishaq Sarker had joined the party by setting aside personal advantage in favour of the people and the youth.

He added that Nuruzzaman Kafi and Mohiuddin Rony were well-known faces of the July movement and had made significant sacrifices.

Fersamin Haque Iqbal could not attend the event in person as she is currently abroad.
