Robber killed in mob-lynching in Cox's Bazar

COX'S BAZAR, May 2: A man named Nur Hasan, 32, alias 'Bainna' was killed in a mob-lynching incident at Leda 26 Rohingya camp in Hnila Union of Teknaf Upazila of the district on Friday evening. He is known as a notorious robber locally.

He was the son of Mostafa Kamal, a resident of the Rohingya refugee camp.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Model Police Station Saiful Islam said that before the incident, there was a shootout between two groups in the hilly area. 

Nur Hasan was detained by the Rohingyas and beaten and seriously injured. He was first taken to the IOM-run hospital. 

After receiving primary treatment there, he was admitted to the Teknaf Upazila Health Complex, where he died during treatment.

The OC further said that the deceased has two cases under the robbery and arms act. The body has been brought to the police station. Legal action is under process in this incident.
