Housewife killed in Noakhali lightning strike

A housewife died after being struck by lightning in Companiganj upazila of Noakhali district on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Lutfunnahar Romana, 40, wife of Abu Naser, a resident of Dakkhin Ali Road area under Rampur union.

According to locals, Romana went out to bring cattle from a nearby field when a sudden rain began. While returning home, she collapsed on the road following a loud lightning strike.

Later, locals rescued her and took her to Companiganj Upazila Health Complex, from where she was referred to Noakhali General Hospital, but she died on the way to the hospital.
