Navy seizes drugs worth Tk 30cr in Teknaf

A Navy special operation team on Monday in Teknaf's Hnila union seized a huge  cache of contraband drugs and illegal firearms, detaining one suspect, official sources said.

The drugs cache, including Ice and Yaba worth about Tk 30 crore was seized by the Navy team who was previously tipped off.  This  matter was confirmed by the official source.  

Along with the large-catch of narcotics, also two foreign pistols and four round of live ammunition were caught. The suspected arrestee  Nurul Kabir has been handed over to Teknaf Police Station (PS), along with the drugs and weapons. 

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Navy team drive was conducted, on information, early Monday at a brickfield in Alikhali area under the union.  ISPR in a press release on Monday said, the Navy conducted a special operation based on intelligence information aimed at recovering illegal drugs and firearms.

The operation team seized 5kg of crystal meth (Ice) and 100,000 Yaba pills --buried underground in a well-planned manner in the brick kiln. The estimated value of the recovered drugs is about Tk 30 crore.
