4 brick kilns fined in Gopalganj

GOPALGANJ, May 7: A mobile court conducted by Executive Magistrate Aniruddha Deb Roy and Magistrate AKM Faizul Bari on Wednesday afternoon at four brick kilns in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila fined their owners Tk 16 lakh for not having clearance certificates and permission to cut soil from the Department of Environment.

Executive Magistrates Fardeen Khan Prince and Muhammad Mamunur Rashid and other officials were present at that time.

Executive Magistrate Aniruddha Deb Roy said that during the drive, Sohag Bricks was fined Tk 4 lakh, Raj Bricks Tk 3 lakh, Star Bricks Tk 4 lakh and Shear Bricks Tk 5 lakh based on information that they were being operated illegally.
