Two SSC examinees killed in road mishaps

Two SSC examinees were killed and one was injured in separate road accidents in Joypurhat and Noakhali districts on Wednesday.

JOYPURHAT: An SSC examinee named Tanmoy Sarkar, 17, died after losing control of his motorcycle and hitting a bridge in the Jamalpur Chanda area on the Joypurhat-Akkelpur road in Joypurhat Sadar Upazila on Wednesday evening.

Tanmoy was the son of Tapan Sarkar of Jamalpur Chanda Village in the upazila. He participated in the SSC examination this year from the local Jamalganj High School.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Joypurhat Sadar Police Station (PS) Noor Alam said that Tanmoy was going from his home to Jamalganj Charmatha Bazar to sell cow milk. On the way, he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a bridge in the said area and was seriously injured. Later, locals rescued him and admitted him to the Joypurhat 250-bed General Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

NOAKHALI: An SSC examinee named Tanmoy Chandra, 16, was killed after being hit by a reckless CNG-powered auto-rickshaw on the Chowmuhani Chowrasta-Maijdi regional highway in front of the Begumganj Agricultural Institute on Wednesday morning. Another examinee named Dwip Debnath, 16, was injured in this incident.

The deceased was the son of Kartik Chandra of Kuripara area of Ward No. 3 of Noakhali Municipality and was an SSC examinee from the local Delta Jute Mill High School.

According to sources, when Tanmoy and his friend Dwip were crossing the road in the said area, a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw hit them, leaving them seriously injured. Later, locals rescued them and took them to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital. Later, Tanmoy died around 2:30 pm on the way to Dhaka for better treatment.
