Dhaka condemns Israeli attack in Lebanon killing 2 Bangladeshis

Bangladesh on Tuesday strongly condemned an Israeli attack in southern Lebanon that killed two Bangladeshi nationals, expressing profound grief and taking steps for the early repatriation of their mortal remains.

"Bangladesh condemned in the strongest possible terms it a "heinous attack" by Israeli forces that claimed the lives of two Bangladeshi nationals in southern Lebanon yesterday," said the foreign ministry in a press released yesterday.

The victims were identified as Shafiqul Islam, from Satkhira Sadar in Satkhira district, and Md Nahidul Islam Nahid, from Ashashuni of Satkhira.

In a press release issued on Tuesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, the government expressed profound grief and extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved families.

According to the press release, The Bangladesh Embassy in Lebanon is currently working with the relevant local authorities to complete the formalities required for the repatriation of the victims' bodies.
