Promoting good agricultural practices, sustainable farming stressed

Keeping in mind the theme of "Agriculture is prosperity", and with emphasis on promoting good agricultural practices and sustainable farming, the day-long Farmers' PARTNER Congress-2026 under the Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience (PARTNER) project for the fiscal year 2025-2026 was held in Ghoraghat Upazila of Dinajpur District and Kawkhali Upazila of Pirojpur District recently.

GHORAGHAT, DINAJPUR: Organised by the Ghoraghat Upazila Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), the PARTNER Congress-2026 was held at the Upazila Parishad Hall Room.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (Acting) Abdul Al Mamun Kawsar Sheikh chaired the programme. Shah Alam Mia, district training officer of the District DAE Deputy Director's Office, was present as the chief guest.

The event was addressed by Upazila Agriculture Officer (UAO) Agriculturist Rafiquzzaman, Additional Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Khadijatul Kubra, Agricultural Extension Officer Agriculturist Mahmuda Akhter, Assistant Agricultural Extension Officer Abdus Sabur, and President of PARTNER Congress School.

The speakers said that the government is implementing various activities to increase production, ensure safe food and develop farmers as entrepreneurs through modern technology-based agricultural systems. Along with this, emphasis was laid on producing nutritious food and developing climate-tolerant agricultural systems.

Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer Asaduzzaman Raju moderated the programme. Farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs and concerned persons from different areas of the upazila participated in it.

After the event, the guests visited various stalls of the PARTNER congress organised by the Upazila DAE.
KAWKHALI: Organised by the Kawkhali Upazila DAE, the day-long PARTNER Congress-2026 was held at the Upazila Agriculture Office Hall Room.

UNO Md Asaduzzaman chaired the programme and Pirojpur DAE Deputy Director Soumitra Sarkar was the chief guest. UAO Agriculturist Soma Rani Das presented the project activities.

Upazila BNP leaders Shafiul Azam Dulal, Rafiqul Islam Rafiq and Asaduzzaman Mamun, journalists Enamul Haque and Riyad Mahmud, Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer Mainul Huda Rumman and others spoke. Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Pradeep Haldar conducted the programme.
