No directive to remove July graffiti issued by City corporation: CCC mayor

Chattogram City Corporation mayor Shahadat Hossain has said that the city corporation did not issue any directive to remove graffiti related to the July mass uprising.

He made the remarks in a statement sent to the media on Monday, in response to ongoing discussions and criticism on social media regarding the alleged removal of graffiti.

The mayor said that the city corporation has always encouraged beautification projects and creative activities in its efforts to build Chattogram into a clean, green and healthy city.

''No separate instruction had been given to remove any artwork, educational murals, or socially aware graffiti.''

The statement also mentioned that no department or branch of the city corporation had carried out any such activity.

Shahadat Hossain urged the public not to spread confusion or misinformation regarding the matter.
