Four Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinees have been arrested by police for allegedly stabbing two fellow examinees after they refused to show their answer scripts during an exam at Mirsharai upazila of Chattogram district.

The incident took place at around 1:30 PM on Sunday in front of Baraiyarhat College, which was the examination center for the ongoing SSC science group papers. The four detained students are from a school of Korerhat, while the two victims are students of a school in Baraiyarhat.

According to police and center sources, several examinees requested the two victims to show them their answer sheets during the examination. When they refused to comply, a group of 10 to 12 students ambushed and stabbed them outside the college gates as they were returning home after the exam. The injured students were immediately rushed to a private hospital in Baraiyarhat Municipality for medical treatment.

Following the assault, the father of one of the injured students filed a formal complaint with Jorarganj Police Station. Acting on the complaint, police conducted overnight drives in the Korerhat Bazar area on Sunday and detained four students suspected of involvement in the attack.

Centre Secretary of Baraiyarhat College Enamul Haq confirmed the incident, stating that the administration was informed of the external clash.

He added that the authorities are investigating the matter internally alongside the ongoing police inquiry.
Jorarganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md. Abdul Halim, stated that a formal case has been registered based on the victim's family's complaint.

The four detained students were produced before a Chattogram court on Monday afternoon and subsequently sent to prison.
