Food adulteration: A silent pandemic

Letter To the Editor
Dear Sir,

Food is essential for life and good health but food adulteration has become a serious crisis in our country. It is now widely spread across almost all daily food items.

Many daily foods like rice, oil, milk, fruits and spices are often mixed with harmful substances. Even children's food is not safe. This is seriously damaging public health. Some traders use chemicals and low-quality ingredients for profit, leading to diseases like kidney failure, heart disease and cancer.

Weak monitoring and poor law enforcement are worsening the situation. Strict laws, regular market checks and public awareness are needed. Ensuring safe food is a shared responsibility of all.
