Golam Rasul's 21st death anniv today

Today is the 21st death anniversary of veteran journalist and freedom fighter Golam Rasul Mallik, founding editor of Eastern News Agency (ENA).

To commemorate the occasion, family members  organised an advance Quran recitation programme and food distribution among the underprivileged at his residence on Wednesday after Asr prayers.

Golam Rasul Mallik had made a significant contribution to journalism during Bangladesh's Liberation War in 1971 by founding ENA, becoming the first Bengali journalist to establish an independent news agency.
