Launch services from Sadarghat Terminal have been temporarily suspended due to adverse weather.

The Ministry of Shipping made the announcement  in a statement on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) had also suspended ferry and launch operations on the Paturia-Daulatdia and Aricha-Kazirhat river routes because of strong winds and heavy rainfall.

According to terminal authorities, dark clouds suddenly gathered over the Paturia and Aricha ferry terminals around 11:20AM, followed by a severe storm. To avoid accidents, the BIWTA and BIWTC jointly decided to halt the movement of all types of water vessels, including ferries and launches.

However, ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed from 12noon.
