Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said that terrorist hideouts will be eradicated wherever those are found in the country.

He also announced plans to establish an integrated training center or 'hub' for law enforcement agencies in Jangal Salimpur.

The Minister made the remarks at a press conference held at the Bangladesh Police Headquarters on Tuesday.

He said a coordinated operation had already dismantled attempts to create a 'state within a state' in Jangal Salimpur, leading to the arrest of notorious criminals and the recovery of a large cache of weapons.

"Hope that everyone will cooperate. We will not allow terrorists, drug traffickers, or extortionists to have any place in this country."

Replying to a question regarding attacks on members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the police, the minister said the government has taken the issue seriously.

"We have closely reviewed the attacks on RAB and police personnel and are taking necessary measures. When those actions become visible, you will be able to see the results," he added.
