Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary has announced the closure of his Motijheel office, citing security concerns and shifted all organisational activities to a new location.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday afternoon, Patwary said the temporary office located at a garage of Hotel Parabat in Motijheel would cease operations with immediate effect.
“All organisational and administrative activities will henceforth be conducted from the 15th floor of Rupayan Tower. We warmly invite the people of Dhaka-8 and all well-wishers across the country to contact us at the new office,” he wrote.
He also urged supporters to prioritise safety, warning against visiting the previous location.
“If anyone visits the earlier site and faces any kind of security risk, attack, legal case or harm, they will be solely responsible for it. Everyone is requested to give the highest priority to security,” the post added.
He also shared a WhatsApp contact number for communication and said political activities would continue with a commitment to “public trust, political civility, security and the rights of the people.”
Earlier, Patwary had set up his election office at the garage of Hotel Parabat in Motijheel during preparations for the 13th National Parliamentary Election, where he was a Jamaat-e-Islami-led alliance candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency. The office had been decorated with murals linked to the July movement.
