Prof Yunus leaves Dhaka for Paris

Former chief adviser of the interim government Prof Muhammad Yunus left Dhaka for Paris, the capital of France, on Wednesday morning.

He departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a Turkish Airlines flight at around 7:15 AM.

On his way to Paris, Yunus is scheduled to make a stopover in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Sources at the airport said the former chief adviser was given VIP protocol before departure.

He arrived at the airport on schedule along with members of his entourage and boarded the flight after completing necessary formalities.

Relevant sources said Yunus is believed to be travelling to France as part of personal and international engagements.

Prof Yunus took office as chief adviser of the interim government formed following the student-led July Uprising in 2024. He formally assumed the role on August 8 that year.

The 13th parliamentary election was later held on February 12, 2026.

Following the formation of a new government through the election, Yunus formally handed over charge to the elected administration on 17 February 2026.
