
KHULNA, June 7: Rear Admiral Arif Ahmed Mostafa, NUP, NDC, AFWC, PSC, BN, has taken over as the Chairman of Mongla Port Authority (MPA) on Sunday, officially assuming his new responsibilities.
He succeeded Rear Admiral Shaheen Rahman in the post.
The handover ceremony was held at Mongla Port Authority, where Acting Chairman Commodore Md Shafiqur Islam Sarkar (G), PSC, BN formally handed over responsibilities to the newly appointed chairman.
Prior to this appointment, Rear Admiral Arif Ahmed Mostafa served as the chairman of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA).
After joining Mongla Port, he held a meeting with all members, department heads, officers of Grade-9 and above, members of the Officers' Association, and representatives of the CBA ad-hoc committee at the authority's conference room.
During the meeting, the acting chairman briefed him on ongoing projects, incomplete initiatives, and the overall work plan of the port.
The newly appointed chairman reviewed the matters and provided directions on future development planning, stressing the need for efficient implementation to enhance the port's performance.
He instructed officials and employees to carry out their duties responsibly and work in coordination as a team, while maintaining discipline.
He also said that reducing administrative complications would help facilitate smoother operational activities at the port.
