Govt appoints new chairmen for NCTB, 5 education boards

Government has appointed new chairmen to the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) and five education boards, including Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jessore and Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board, according to separate notifications issued by the Ministry of Education on Monday.

According to Secondary and Higher Education Division, Professor Mohammad Fakhrul Maula, Vice-Principal of Chattogram Commerce College, has been appointed Chairman of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board.

Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, Controller of Examinations of Mymensingh Education Board, has been appointed Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board.

Shamim Ara Chowdhury, currently Secretary of the Rajshahi Education Board, has been named its new Chairman.

Principal Md Ahsan Parvez of Devidwar Government College has been appointed Chairman of the Cumilla Education Board.

Professor Faruque Azam Md. Abdus Salam, Principal of Hazi Mohammad Mohsin College, Khulna, will serve as Chairman of the Jashore Education Board.

Meanwhile, Professor Khondoker Mohammad Sadequr Rahman, Secretary of the Cumilla Education Board, has been appointed Chairman of the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board.

The Education Ministry said the appointments have been made in the public interest and will take immediate effect.
