8 urban dev agencies get new chairmen

The government has appointed chairmen to eight urban planning and development authorities of the country, according to official notifications.

In separate notifications issued on Thursday (June 11), the public administration ministry confirmed the appointments of new chiefs of the self-governing development authorities based in Khulna, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Narayanganj and Cumilla. New chairmen - all of them leaders of ruling BNP- have been appointed for one year-tenure each on contractual basis.
