Jatiya Party (JaPa) has described the proposed national budget as unimplementable, saying that the targets set out in it are unlikely to be achieved.
JaPa Secretary General Barrister Shamim Haider Patwary made the remarks, while making his reaction to the new fiscal budget.
"This budget is not implementable, the target set in the budget will never be achieved. As a result, the government will borrow from the ADP for the development budget, salaries, and government revenue budget will also be on the basis of loans," he said.
He warned such a financing structure will make a significant pressure on the economy. "This will have a huge impact on the economy; if salaries are increased, pay scales are implemented, it will put pressure on the private sector. We can see the possibility of severe currency depreciation. There is no instruction in the budget to control currency depreciation. There is no proper instruction for employment creation," he said.
