MASTUL Foundation has launched a special programme to plant 1,00,000 tree saplings across different regions of Bangladesh.

This large-scale initiative aims to mitigate the adverse impacts of global climate change, promote a greener environment and help build a more liveable and sustainable future for generations to come, said a press release on Friday.

Under this program, fruit-bearing, forest, and medicinal tree saplings will be planted and distributed across educational institutions, madrasas, orphanages, social and religious organizations, coastal areas, and environmentally vulnerable regions throughout the country. To ensure proper care and preservation of the trees, local volunteers, students, and community members will be actively engaged in the initiative.

MASTUL Foundation believes that tree plantation is not only an environmental responsibility but also an effective tool for social and economic development.Through this 100,000-tree plantation campaign, local communities will be involved in nursery operations, sapling production, plantation activities, maintenance, and conservation efforts.

This will create new employment opportunities, support local economies, and open pathways for income generation, particularly for underprivileged and job-seeking individuals.

The Foundation emphasizes that the goal of this initiative extends beyond planting trees. It seeks to build a long-term environmental movement that encourages active participation from individuals, families, educational institutions, corporate organizations, and young people. A single tree contributes significantly to maintaining ecological balance, ensuring cleaner air, conserving biodiversity, reducing carbon emissions, and minimizing the risks associated with natural disasters.

Speaking about the initiative, Kazi Reaz Rahman, Founder and Executive Director of MASTUL Foundation, said:
"The ultimate purpose behind all our efforts and initiatives is to seek the pleasure of Almighty Allah. We consider every act of humanitarian service, environmental protection, and public welfare as a form of worship. Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing the world today. Addressing this crisis requires not only government action but also collective efforts at the social and individual levels. MASTUL Foundation’s ‘100,000 Tree Plantation Program’ is an important step toward building a greener, safer, and more sustainable Bangladesh for future generations. We encourage everyone to plant at least one tree and become part of this environmental movement."

Farhana Yasmin, Chief Operating Officer of MASTUL Foundation, stated: "We believe that a tree does more than protect the environment-it is closely connected to people’s livelihoods and well-being. Through this program, we aim to create new employment and income-generating opportunities for local nurseries, sapling producers, workers, and volunteers. This initiative will not only contribute to a greener Bangladesh but also play a positive role in improving the quality of life for many people."

MASTUL Foundation has announced that its nationwide volunteer network will actively work across various districts and upazilas to implement the program and gradually achieve the target of planting 100,000 saplings. The organization has also invited individuals, educational institutions, corporate entities, and social organizations to become partners in this green initiative.

By contributing to environmental protection, reducing the effects of climate change, conserving biodiversity, and generating local employment opportunities, MASTUL Foundation hopes that this initiative will create a positive and lasting impact on communities across Bangladesh and help build a greener and more sustainable nation.
