KU hosts workshop on collaborative social science research

A workshop titled “Collaborative Research in Social Science: Theories, Opportunities and Practical Methodologies” was organised at Khulna University (KU) on Saturday.

The inaugural session of the workshop was held at the URP Lecture Theatre of the university.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Harunur Rashid Khan was present as the chief guest while Dean of the Social Science School Professor Sheikh Sharafat Hossain presided over the event.

KU Treasurer Professor Dr Md Nurunnabi attended the function as special guest.

Professor Harunur Rashid Khan in his speech said that the scope of research is vast and quality research requires long-term commitment and sincere efforts.

He described collaborative research as a process that integrates different academic disciplines to generate comprehensive knowledge.

He said alongside discipline-based studies, the importance of multidisciplinary and collaborative research is increasing worldwide.

Research outcomes should contribute to human welfare and play an effective role in social development, he added.

Teachers from different disciplines under the Social Science School also participated in the daylong workshop.
