Child drowns in Patuakhali

Police on Monday morning recovered the body of a five-year-old child from a pond in Patuakhali’s Baufal upazila who went there to visit his grandparent's house. 

The child was identified as Osman Gani, son of Jewel Haulader, hailing from Ward No. 7, Ramnagar, Surjomukhi Union.

Locals spotted his body floating in a pond called ‘Mridha Barir Pukur’ in Aynabaj Kalaiya Union at around  6AM on Monday morning and informed the police.

Osman’s parents left him at his grandparent's house as they had a schedule to visit a doctor in Barishal. Since Sunday noon, he had been missing.

Officer-in-Charge of Baufal Police Station Md. Shirajul Islam confirmed that they were informed about the incident and added they will investigate the matter .
