Iranian Ambassador Calls on LDP President Oli Ahmad

Iranian Ambassador to Bangladesh, H.E. Dr. Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi, paid a courtesy call on Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President Dr. Col. Oli Ahmad Bir Bikram (Retd.) at his residence in DOHS Mohakhali, Dhaka, on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed Bangladesh-Iran relations, regional developments, and issues of mutual interest. They exchanged greetings and expressed optimism about further strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Dr. Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties with Bangladesh through dialogue, mutual respect, and constructive engagement. He noted that Tehran places high value on its relationship with Dhaka and looks forward to expanding cooperation across a range of sectors.

Welcoming the Ambassador, Dr. Col. Oli Ahmad reiterated the LDP’s support for fostering friendly and mutually beneficial relations with Iran. He underscored the importance of diplomacy and international cooperation in promoting global peace and regional stability.

On behalf of the LDP, Dr. Oli Ahmad commended efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the recent tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. He also conveyed his condolences to the Government and people of Iran over the loss of lives and destruction resulting from the conflict.

The LDP President expressed hope that lasting peace in the Middle East could be achieved through dialogue, mutual understanding, and diplomatic engagement. He emphasized the need for greater cooperation among Muslim-majority nations and highlighted the importance of energy security, uninterrupted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, and regional stability.

The meeting concluded with a dinner held in a cordial atmosphere.

The Iranian delegation included First Counsellor Esrafil Amiri Gorzaddini, Head of Economic Affairs Mahmoud Khosravi, and Public Relations Officer Mahfuzul Haque. LDP Presidium Member Dr. Neamul Basir was also present at the meeting.
